Genk forward Rafiu Durosinmi has drawn comparisons with fellow Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, courtesy of his agent Tosin Dosunmu, following an impressive start to life at the Belgian Pro League club.
A Fast Start Since Arriving From Pisa
Durosinmi joined Genk from Serie A side Pisa in July and has made an immediate impact, scoring five goals in six league appearances to quickly establish himself as an important player for the Smurfs.
Dosunmu Draws The Osimhen Parallel
Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, Dosunmu said Durosinmi had already impressed him on his very first matchday, barely ten days into training with the squad. He said, “Rafiu sometimes reminds me a bit of Victor Osimhen,” while pointing out that Durosinmi’s particular strength in the air sets him apart from the Galatasaray striker.
Room Still To Grow
Despite the flying start, Dosunmu was careful to temper expectations, noting that Durosinmi’s overall fitness is not yet at its peak and that his understanding with teammates is still developing as he continues settling into his new surroundings.
