Nigeria international Rafiu Durosinmi says he is delighted to have helped Genk salvage a point in a 1-1 draw against KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday.
An Early Setback, A Quick Response
Genk fell behind inside the first ten minutes when Momodou Sonko put the visitors ahead. Durosinmi levelled matters two minutes into the second half, netting his fifth league goal in just six appearances for the club this season.
Man Of The Match Once Again
The forward was named Man of the Match for his efforts, and spoke afterward about both his personal form and the team’s overall performance. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said, “I am happy to have been voted Man of the Match again,” adding that it feels good to currently be the club’s top scorer.
Durosinmi also reflected on the difficulty of breaking down a Gent side that had conceded very little coming into the match, describing the point earned as a solid outcome given the circumstances. He said the focus now is on carrying the positives from the performance into the team’s next fixture, and spoke warmly of having his family and wife present to support him.
Club Brugge Test Next
Genk will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Club Brugge in their next league fixture.
