Enyimba goalkeeper Dede Dare has denied making a statement about players who left the club at the end of the 2025/26 season, after the comments were posted in his name on Enyimba’s official social media page.
The post, shared on Wednesday, attributed a statement to Dare referencing teammates who had departed the club, some of whom had publicly criticised their treatment during their time there.
“I Never Granted Such Interview”
Dare responded directly in the comments section, saying he never said what was posted and did not know where it had come from. He said he is not active on social media and had never given an interview for those comments to be published, and asked for the post to be taken down. Responding separately to fans who criticised the statement, he repeated that he never granted any such interview.
An Unresolved Question
How the statement came to be published in Dare’s name on the club’s own page remains unclear. The episode comes shortly after Enyimba’s opening defeat of the new NPFL season, adding to a period of scrutiny for the club following its offseason changes.
