Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman was in action as Atletico Madrid played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Villarreal in Sunday’s La Liga fixture.
Lookman, who had a relatively quiet game, was substituted in the 79th minute for Jose Gimenez in what was his second appearance for Atletico Madrid this season.
A Wild Finish At The Metropolitano
Atletico took the lead just before the hour mark through a curling long-range effort from Pubill, only for Villarreal to level from the penalty spot through Moreno after Morten Hjulmand fouled Tajon Buchanan inside the box. The match swung further in Villarreal’s favour when Robin Le Normand was shown a straight red card in the 76th minute, and Mikautadze put the visitors ahead two minutes later with Atletico down to ten men. Giuliano Simeone rescued a point for the hosts with an 84th-minute equaliser, sealing the 2-2 draw.
