NPFL champions Rangers International will face hosts Plateau United in the final of the 2026 NPFL Super Six Preseason Tournament at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
The final kicks off at 4pm, with both sides looking to close out their preparations for the 2026/27 NPFL season on a winning note. Rangers, who secured the league title on the final day of last season with a 2-1 win over Ikorodu City in Lagos, will be keen to show that their title-winning form remains intact heading into the new campaign.
Plateau United’s Strong Run In Jos
Plateau United will have home advantage on their side, having made a strong start to the tournament with a 1-0 win over Rivers United in their opening match, Jibril Ibrahim scoring the winning goal.
Valuable Preparation For The Season Ahead
The Super Six has given all six participating clubs, Rangers International, Rivers United, El-Kanemi Warriors, Katsina United, Plateau United and Mighty Jets, valuable competitive preparation ahead of the new campaign, allowing coaches to assess their squads, test tactics and give new signings time to settle. The tournament, held in Jos with the support of the Plateau State Government, is also considered important preparation for the Nigerian clubs set to represent the country in this season’s CAF inter club competitions.
