Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has signed a new two year contract with Saudi Women’s Premier League club Al-Ittihad Ladies, extending her stay with the Jeddah-based side until 2028.
Plumptre committed her future to the club after establishing herself as one of its key performers since arriving on a free transfer from English side Leicester City in September 2023. The 28 year old has enjoyed an impressive spell with the Tigers, contributing 15 goals and 19 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
The versatile defender is currently recovering from a foot injury that has kept her out of action since March. As a result, she was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to allow her to focus fully on her recovery ahead of the new season.
Plumptre played a vital role in the Super Falcons side that lifted a record-extending 10th WAFCON title at the last edition of the tournament, further cementing her status as one of the team’s most influential players.
