Toni Payne says she is thrilled about the opportunity to play for Inter Milan after completing a move to the Serie A giants from Everton on a two year deal.
The 31 year old spent two seasons at Everton after joining the Women’s Super League club on a free transfer in 2024, and had previously played for Sevilla in Spain.
Speaking to Inter’s official website after the move was confirmed, Payne said she felt honoured given the history surrounding the club, describing herself as happy to now be part of it. She said the transfer means a great deal to her at this stage of her career, and expressed excitement about testing herself in a competitive league against a squad with genuine ambitions of success.
She also spoke about the qualities she hopes will help her settle quickly into Inter’s squad, pointing to her pace, dribbling ability, and delivery from wide areas as attributes she believes can benefit the team this season. Payne said simply, “I’m really excited to get started.”
