Wikki Tourists have confirmed the appointment of Bala Abubakar as their new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League season, according to Complete Sports.

Abubakar succeeds Evans Ogenyi, who stepped down after the club’s relegation from the NPFL last season, and has been tasked with leading the Bauchi Elephants back to the top flight at the first attempt.

A Well-Travelled Coaching Résumé

A CAF B Licence holder, Abubakar brings a wealth of coaching experience across the Nigerian football landscape, having previously managed Lobi Stars, Niger Tornadoes, Katsina United, Doma United, Sunshine Stars and Bauchi based Zabgai International. That varied background has built him a reputation for tactical organisation and an ability to develop competitive squads.

Wikki Tourists will be hoping his experience translates into an immediate NPFL return following what was a disappointing 2025/26 campaign for the club.
