Former Nigeria international Simon Zenke has expressed regret after Flying Eagles defender Amos Ochoche completed a move from Stade de Reims in France to SK Dynamo České Budějovice in the Czech Republic, saying he would have preferred the young Nigerian to remain in Ligue 1.
Zenke, speaking about Ochoche’s transfer, acknowledged the defender’s potential and development during his time in France and suggested that staying there might have offered more opportunities.
The 19 year old Ochoche featured for Reims’ developmental sides but did not make a competitive appearance for the senior team before the move. He was part of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles squad at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup and is expected to feature regularly for Budějovice.
While disappointed by the transfer, Zenke understood that regular playing time could help Ochoche’s growth, noting that the move to the Czech club might offer him more minutes on the pitch.
