Enyimba FC have moved to restore stability at the club after a prolonged internal power struggle by officially unveiling Emmanuel Deutsch Detchoua Gustave as the new Technical Adviser, while Deji Ayeni has been dropped from his coaching role. The changes were announced on Wednesday at a ceremony in Aba.
The People’s Elephant also confirmed the return of former Super Eagles captain Uche Okechukwu as the club’s Vice-Chairman, in a bid to reorganise the technical and administrative structure amid its challenging NPFL campaign.
The unveiling was led by the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Hon. Engr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, who reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the club and urged unity within the team and backroom staff.
While Ayeni had been working with the squad earlier in the season, the boardroom dispute saw uncertainty over leadership at the club. Enyimba hope the new appointments will bring fresh ideas, discipline and tactical direction ahead of Matchday 27 against Rivers United later this week.
