Suspended ‘Yaro Yaro’ Awaits Clarity From Kano Pillars Amid Silence Over His Future

Former Nigeria international Ahmed Garba, popularly known as Yaro Yaro, says he is still waiting for clarity from Kano Pillars over his future after being suspended as head coach nearly two months ago.

The 45 year old was suspended on 19 October 2025 alongside technical adviser Evans Ogenyi following Kano Pillars’ 1–1 home draw against Shooting Stars (3SC) in an NPFL Matchday 8 fixture.

Garba revealed that the suspension came via a brief SMS notification and followed a meeting with the club’s technical committee but he has since heard nothing substantive about what comes next. He has not met with management to discuss his role or potential resolution.

Despite the uncertainty, he confirmed that Kano Pillars have continued to pay his October and November salaries, saying the club has “kept their word” on that front.

A long-serving figure at the club both as a player and coach — Garba said he has remained patient and at home while awaiting communication from the Kano Pillars hierarchy. He added that the club’s technical general manager had promised further discussions, but nothing has materialised.
