Aribo Poised to Leave Southampton in January Move

The midfield of Joe Aribo is once again at the centre of speculation, as Southampton FC plan to offload the Nigerian when the next transfer window opens.  With just six months remaining on his contract, Aribo is reportedly free to negotiate with foreign clubs when the window opens but Southampton appear unwilling to let him go on a free.

Turkish top-flight sides Göztepe S.K. and Trabzonspor are both said to be eyeing the experienced midfielder. Despite his status as a full Nigeria international and former key man in midfield, Aribo has found playing time hard to come by this season  appearing just six times for Southampton in the Championship.

If Southampton’s valuation of roughly €1.5 million is met, a move could be on the cards come January. Otherwise he may finish out the season under contract but with his future uncertain.
