Super Falcons and Galatasaray defender Oluwatosin Demehin has been honoured with a traditional title in her hometown in Ondo State.
The title of Yeye Akeweje of Ilaje was conferred on the Nigerian international by His Royal Majesty, Oba Kayode Aiyetiwa, the Oba of Bariga. The ceremony recognised her achievements in football and her rising status as a role model in her community.
Demehin, who recently signed for Turkish champions Galatasaray, has been a key figure for the Super Falcons and has also represented Nigeria at youth levels, including the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Her defensive prowess and leadership on the pitch have won her praise from coaches and fans alike.
Speaking at the event, the royal father commended Demehin for making her people proud and expressed hope that her success would inspire more young girls in Ilaje to pursue their dreams.
