Belgian top-flight giants Club Brugge are reportedly in talks to sign Nigerian winger Samuel Akere from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv as the summer transfer window approaches.
According to reports from Africafoot, initial contact has already been made between Brugge and the player’s camp. Akere, 21, has impressed with five goals in 32 matches across all competitions this season, including four in Bulgaria’s top division.
With just one year remaining on his current deal, Akere is believed to be open to a move and has reportedly turned down an offer to extend his contract. Botev Plovdiv may therefore be willing to sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for free in 2026.
The Nigerian winger, currently valued at €1 million on Transfermarkt, is attracting attention from multiple European clubs, but Club Brugge are said to be leading the race, having already reached out to his entourage.
If the move materialises, Akere would join fellow Nigerian Raphael Onyedika at Brugge. Before joining Botev Plovdiv, Akere played for Russian side FDC Vista Gelendzhik.
