Super Eagles Promised Record Bonus for 2026 World Cup Qualification

The Nigerian government has introduced a new incentive structure that will see the Super Eagles receive a record-breaking qualification bonus if they secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For the current international window covering fixtures against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, each player will receive a total of $3,600 — $2,000 in appearance fees and $1,600 for eight days in camp.

Once the Super Eagles clinch qualification, they will be awarded a one-time record sum covering all ten qualifying matches. A senior official confirmed, “It will be a once off payment and I can boldly tell you it will be the biggest bonus ever paid for qualifying for the World Cup.”

This new system aims to reduce financial strain on the Nigeria Football Federation NFF during the qualifiers while keeping the players highly motivated to achieve the end goal.
