Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn into Group B of the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON set to take place in Morocco in the summer of 2025. Their group includes Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
The Super Falcons are familiar with Algeria, having recently defeated them in two friendly matches by 2-0 and 4-1 margins in Nigeria. Botswana secured their spot in the tournament by eliminating Gabon in the qualifiers, while Tunisia reached the quarter finals in the last edition, also held in Morocco.
The draw, conducted at the Mohamed VI Football Complex in Sale, outside Rabat, also placed host nation Morocco in Group A alongside Zambia, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reigning champions South Africa were drawn into Group C with Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.
The competition will feature 12 teams and run from 5th to 26th July 2025. Hosts Morocco, runners-up in 2022, are seeking to go one step further this time, while the Super Falcons will aim to reclaim their title following their bronze medal finish in the last tournament.
